Eisenhower
National Historic Site

Walk
in the footsteps of Winston Churchill, Charles DeGaulle and Nikita
Khrushchev, in central Pennsylvania, with a visit to the Eisenhower
National Historic Site at Gettysburg. The Eisenhower National Historic
Site is the presidential and retirement home of Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Purchased by Eisenhower in 1950, the 189 acre farm sported a show
herd of Angus cattle and served as a presidential retreat, temporary
White House, and meeting place for world leaders. Located adjacent
to the Gettysburg Battlefield, the site today comprises 690 acres
and is still maintained as a working farm. The estate was the only
home that President Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie, ever owned.
The house, grounds and buildings are preserved.
Displayed are the formal
living room, sun porch, many of the president's paintings, original
furniture, photographs, gifts and other items. Visitors can also
see a video presentation of Eisenhower's life. Self-guided walking
tours of the grounds and cattle barns are available.

visitors from all over the world, The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle
Museum and Plant Tour is one of the most unique activities you will
ever experience. The antique motorcycle museum features the history
and heritage of America's #1 motorcycle manufacturer and the plant
tour shows the final assembly of the famous Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Exhibits range from the
first 1906 Harley-Davidson through the current models. The plant
tour allows visitors to see the manufacturing of parts and the assembly
of motorcycles. It takes approximately 2 and 1/2 hours to assemble
a Harley!
